S1232 as amended passed out of committee this week and is on the 3rd reading calendar in the House.
Monday, 2/19/24:
The Senate passed S1232 as amended 34-1. It now heads to the House.
Tuesday, 2/13/24:
The Senate went to the 14th order of business last week and made some minor amendments to this bill. It is now on the 3rd reading calendar, awaiting a floor vote.
Monday, 1/22/24:
Sen. Herndon presented S1232 in the Senate Judiciary & Rules Committee on Monday afternoon. After a few questions and brief debate, Sen. Dan Foreman moved to send the bill to the Senate floor with a do pass recommendation. However, Sen. Abby Lee made a substitute motion to send it to the amending order, where she and Chairman Todd Lakey hoped to see some additions. That motion passed, and S1232 is in the Senate amending order.

IFF has rated S1232 +1.
Tuesday, 1/16/24:
Sen. Scott Herndon introduced RS 30886 which would ensure that parents who are targeted for investigation by Child Protective Services are notified of their rights. It was approved and printed, assigned S1232.
