Tuesday, 4/2/24:
S1296 was returned to the floor last week with amendments making it more generally about cryptocurrency rather than Bitcoin specifically, and removing the prohibition on power companies engaging in rate discrimination. Sen. Herndon presented the bill on the floor, where it failed 17-18. Read my live tweet thread here.
Friday, 3/8/24:
S1296 was sent to the Senate amending order while House Bill 585, a counterpart Bitcoin bill, made its way through the system.

Update: The committee ran out of time, so Chairman Kevin Cook pushed discussion to the next meeting on Thursday.

Tuesday, 2/13/24:
Sen. Scott Herndon introduced a bill to protect Bitcoin mining as well as Bitcoin transactions from extra regulations. The committee voted to introduce the bill and it was printed as S1296.
