The Department of Labor administers Idaho's unemployment insurance system, enforces the state's minimum wage and wage-claim laws, and operates the Disability Determinations Service under contract with the Social Security Administration. The Director's office traces to the Bureau of Immigration, Labor and Statistics established in Idaho's original 1889 Constitution, though the department in its current form was organized under Title 72, Chapter 13.
