For generations, Gold Star Families have been selfless, strong, and have sacrificed so much for this country. I recently added my name to an initiative that would designate September 20th through September 26th, 2026, as Gold Star Families Remembrance Week. No matter the day or week, America stands with the families of our fallen heroes.
Interested in an internship? My DC and Idaho offices have plenty of opportunities! In fact, we are now looking for spring 2027 interns. Internships offer great experience!

Gold Star Families Remembrance Week
The families of our fallen heroes have embodied strength and resilience. While we can’t fully repay them for their service, they deserve significant recognition.
Today, this week, and every day, we stand with America’s Gold Star Families. I’m proud to join my colleagues in honoring the families of America’s service members who made the ultimate sacrifice to defend our country and the freedoms we hold so dearly.

An Idaho native, Mike Simpson was born in Burley and raised in Blackfoot. His political career began in 1980, when he was elected to the Blackfoot City Council. In 1984, he was elected to the Idaho Legislature where he served until 1998, the last six years serving as Speaker.
