RELEASE: Brabeion Academy Appoints Dr. Greg Wiles as Chief Education Officer

As a former college student-athlete with a career built on leadership, competition and excellence, Dr. Greg Wiles is the perfect fit and newest hire for Idaho’s first public school of sport.

NAMPA, Idaho — Brabeion Academy, Idaho’s first public school of sport, announced today the appointment of Dr. Greg Wiles as its Chief Education Officer (CEO).

Dr. Wiles has spent more than three decades creating school cultures where students are encouraged to achieve high standards in classrooms, fields, gyms, tracks and courts. He has served as a teacher, coach and administrator in Idaho, most recently as Superintendent of Nampa Christian Schools.

Dr. Wiles’ career is defined by transformation and numerous accomplishments. As a principal within the Nampa School District for over a decade, including the founding principal of Lone Star Middle School (2008-2013) and principal of West Middle School (2001-2008), he built a reputation for cultures where high performance is the expectation. He earned the 2010 Middle Level Principal of the Year from the Idaho Association of Secondary Administrators and the 2010 Transformational Leader of the Year from the National Association of Elementary School Principals.

In addition, Dr. Wiles has overseen multiple institutional accreditation processes, which will be critical as Brabeion seeks accreditation before the launch of its high school program in 2027.

Dr. Wiles currently serves as Executive Director of the Idaho Middle Level Association (IMLA) and as a member of the Idaho High School Activities Association (IHSAA) Classification Committee, which brings valuable knowledge for Idaho’s first public school of sport.

Regarding his decision to join Brabeion, he said it came down to one thing: belief.

“I had some opportunities on the table, but this one was different. When I started digging into the mission and vision of Brabeion Academy I came across the slogan ‘Victory Through Excellence’ and felt like I already knew this place. That is the way I have tried to coach, lead, and teach my whole life. I am very grateful to be part of this new adventure.”

In his role as CEO, Dr. Wiles will lead academic programming, instructional leadership, accreditation, and educator development. He will work in close partnership with the Head of School and Sport (HoSS) Branden Durst to implement the school’s cohort-based instructional model and other innovative programming.

HoSS Durst said the hire superbly reflects the goals and dreams of Brabeion Academy:

“At Brabeion we believe in competition. To compete successfully means working hard to become the best version of yourself. That starts at the top, and Greg is the exact caliber of leader I want to model that mentality to the families and students who call Brabeion Academy their school.”

Brabeion Academy opens in late August 2026 as Idaho’s first public school of sport. Students here are challenged to compete, in the classroom, in the weight room, and on the field, because that’s how character, discipline, and excellence are built. With Dr. Wiles joining the team, Brabeion Academy isn’t just ready to open. It’s ready to compete.
