G. Richard Bevan

G. Richard Bevan grew up in Twin Falls and earned his undergraduate and law degrees from Brigham Young University in 1987. He practiced law in Twin Falls for sixteen years, including a term as county prosecutor, before Governor Dirk Kempthorne appointed him to the Fifth Judicial District bench in 2003. Governor Butch Otter elevated him to the Supreme Court in 2017, and his fellow justices selected him as Chief Justice beginning in 2021, a post he has now held through two terms.
