Department of Parks and Recreation

The Department of Parks and Recreation manages Idaho's 30 state parks along with statewide registration programs for boats, snowmobiles, and off-highway vehicles. The department is governed by the six-member Park and Recreation Board—one member per district, appointed by the Governor with Senate confirmation—which in turn appoints the Director as its own secretary and administrative officer.
