RISCH: 2025 Report Card: Promises Kept

By Sen. Jim Risch

The American people gave us a clear mandate for 2025: restore commonsense and deliver on your promises.

With President Trump back in the White House and Republicans majorities in Congress, we’ve done just that.

We’ve made great strides in reversing the previous administration’s radical policies, getting the federal government out of the way, and securing significant wins for Idahoans, including:

  • Stopping the disastrous Lava Ridge Wind Energy Project with an executive order I wrote in partnership with President Trump;
  • Protecting Idaho’s public lands;
  • Getting Presidential approval for a new Boise Veterans Home;
  • Maintaining the University of Idaho’s ROTC program and long-standing tradition of shaping military leaders;
  • Bringing border crossings to a 25-year low and passing legislation to crack down on fentanyl trafficking;
  • Securing the largest tax cut in history for working and middle-class Americans;
  • Protecting women’s sports and submitting a brief to the Supreme Court to uphold Idaho’s law banning biological men from women’s sports;
  • Confirming hundreds of President Trump’s nominees;
  • And much more!

As we turn the page on 2025, I’m proud of the great work we’ve done.

Promises made, promises kept. And I will keep working to cut red tape, rein in federal spending, and put Idahoans first
