BOISE, ID — On Friday, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals paused a lower court’s order that had limited enforcement of Idaho’s pro-life laws. Idaho can enforce those laws again while the State’s appeal continues.
In its order, the court said Idaho made “a strong showing of likely success on the merits.” The ruling isn’t final, and the appeal goes forward.
Attorney General Raúl Labrador reacted to the order saying:
“I am thrilled that the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled to prevent the enforcement of the District Court’s injunction against Idaho’s Defense of Life Act during the appeal process, and has found that we have a strong likelihood of succeeding in that appeal. Idaho’s unwavering protection for unborn children and their mothers will continue as intended.”
