Another busy week in the district! My team and I had several meetings with Idahoans and important discussions on policies pertinent to Idaho.
We spent the week touring Idaho National Laboratory and learning more about INL’s critical role in achieving recent criticality milestones, visiting Idaho State University and touring several buildings on campus, and returning to the new Fort Hall fire station to meet with first responders.
It was great to welcome NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman to Idaho as he visited Idaho National Laboratory for a NASA Goes Nuclear event! The Trump Administration has prioritized energy dominance over the last two years, and I applaud their efforts in ensuring our country is underway in a nuclear renaissance.
Visiting Idaho State University
I enjoyed touring Idaho State University with Team Simpson and seeing all the incredible work happening on campus.
From its nuclear and pharmaceutical programs to healthcare, performing arts, and so much more, ISU is preparing students for a bright future.
Returning to the New Fort Hall Fire Station
Just weeks after attending the ribbon-cutting for the new fire station in Fort Hall, I was excited to return and welcome Team Simpson to see the new facility firsthand.
Upgrading Fort Hall’s fire station was long overdue, and I’m proud to have helped secure critical federal funding to make this project a reality. God bless our brave first responders!

It was so great meeting with NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman, INL Director Dr. John Wagner, Department of Energy Deputy Secretary James Danly, and Governor Brad Little for a NASA Goes Nuclear event!
The important work taking place at INL strengthens our security both on Earth and in space.

An Idaho native, Mike Simpson was born in Burley and raised in Blackfoot. His political career began in 1980, when he was elected to the Blackfoot City Council. In 1984, he was elected to the Idaho Legislature where he served until 1998, the last six years serving as Speaker.
