DOI Publishes Preliminary Qualified Health Plan Insurance Rates for 2027

The Department has released preliminary 2027 health insurance premium rates and is seeking public comments. Proposed changes average 13% for individual plans and 12% for small-group plans, with final rates expected October 1.

Two Fraudsters Convicted in Latest Department Enforcement Actions

The DOI secured two significant insurance fraud convictions this month, reinforcing our commitment to protecting Idaho consumers and maintaining integrity within the insurance marketplace. In both cases, investigators worked closely with prosecutors to uncover falsified claims and intentional misrepresentations that resulted in unlawful payouts. The successful convictions highlight the ongoing efforts of our fraud unit and serve as an important reminder that fraudulent activity carries serious consequences.

“Prepare Your Home for a Wildfire” provides homeowners with practical, easy-to-follow steps to reduce wildfire risk around their property. It highlights the importance of creating defensible space, removing dry vegetation, and keeping roofs, gutters, and outdoor areas free of debris that could ignite during a wildfire. The flier also outlines simple improvements—such as trimming tree limbs, securing spark-prone equipment, and maintaining adequate clearance around structures—to help slow the spread of fire and improve firefighter access.
