BOISE, Idaho – Lieutenant Governor Scott Bedke has been named a Nuclear State Champion by Nuclear Matters in partnership with the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI), recognizing his significant contributions to advancing nuclear energy policy in Idaho.
The honor places Lt. Gov. Bedke among 150 state leaders across 40+ states selected for the program, which acknowledges policymakers, regulators, advocates and energy officials who are driving meaningful progress for nuclear energy in their communities.
“This recognition reflects Idaho’s commitment to clean, reliable energy solutions,” Lt. Gov. Bedke said. “Nuclear energy plays a vital role in our state’s energy future, and I’m proud to champion policies that support this critical infrastructure.”
The Nuclear State Champions program, launched by Nuclear Matters and NEI, celebrates leaders who have influenced nuclear policy outcomes, engaged with constituents and the nuclear community, and advocated publicly for a more resilient energy future. Champions are selected based on clear impact-based criteria and demonstrate genuine commitment to advancing nuclear energy.
