THE SIMPSON STANDARD: February 15th, 2026

By Congressman Mike Simpson

Dear Friend,

BIG AND BUSY WEEK here in the House! For starters, we passed critical legislation — a bill I was proud to cosponsor — that requires photo identification and proof of citizenship to vote in federal elections. Common sense, right? I think so – and so do 83% of Americans. Learn more about the SAVE America Act below.

We’ve got a lot on deck for next week, too! Ensuring our local heroes are taken care of is one of my top priorities in Congress. Every year, my office helps host a Veterans Resource Fair in our great state. If you or someone you know is struggling with a federal agency, please swing by the upcoming veterans resource fair next Wednesday, February 18th

Can’t stop, won’t stop highlighting more federal funding coming BACK to Idaho. I am THRILLED to announce that I have secured funding for all the Community Funding Projects I requested. Additionally, President Trump has signed all these measures into law! Learn more about the funding for the Soda Springs US-30 Reconstruction Project in Soda Springs below.

Supporting Safe and Secure Elections

All Americans want safe and secure elections. Requiring photo identification and verifying United States citizenship when registering to vote in federal elections is not a controversial issue. In fact, 83% of Americans support photo ID requirements, including 95% of Republicans and 71% of Democrats.

I proudly supported the SAVE Act when it passed the House last year. I am pleased that the SAVE America Act builds on that critical legislation. Let’s get this to the President!

Veterans Resource Fair

It is always Team Simpson’s pleasure to welcome and ensure our great veterans are cared for. I encourage any veteran who resides in Idaho’s Second District and is struggling with a federal agency to swing by our upcoming Veterans Resources Fair and receive the help they so greatly deserve.

Bringing Tax Dollars Back to Idaho

Reconstructing the pavement of US Highway 30 through Soda Springs has long been a priority for the state of Idaho. This project will provide essential infrastructure improvements, enhancing public safety.

I very much enjoyed my trip to Soda Springs last year, where I was able to discuss this project. I am proud to secure this funding that will bring necessary improvements and benefit the people of Soda Springs and throughout the state. Read more about this project and community support here.
