BOISE, ID — Attorney General Raúl Labrador has announced that William Don Lindburg, 75, was convicted of two counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Child for Possessing Sexually Exploitative Material (Child Pornography). The possession of sexually exploitative material is a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison. Lindburg was sentenced on February 10, 2026, by District Judge Darren B. Simpson.

“Protecting Idaho families is the driving mission of this office in everything we do,” said Attorney General Labrador. “I’m incredibly proud of Deputy Attorneys General Monn, Gourley, and Young and the investigators who worked this case. Their dedication ensures that those who are caught exploiting children in Idaho are prosecuted and put behind bars.”

In March 2025, law enforcement received a CyberTip indicating that child sexual abuse material (CSAM) had been uploaded to an online platform from an IP address later determined to be associated with Lindburg. After obtaining search warrants, officers searched Lindburg’s residence, vehicles, and digital devices. At the time of the search, Lindburg was found actively looking at CSAM on his desktop computer and admitted to law enforcement that they were going to find “thousands of images of child pornography.” Many of the files located in Lindburg’s possession depicted children under the age of eight and as young as two being sexually abused.

Judge Simpson sentenced Lindburg to a total unified sentence of twenty years in prison with four years fixed and sixteen years indeterminate. Lindburg will be required to register as a sex offender pursuant to Idaho law.

The investigation was conducted by Detective Neil Stevens with the Idaho State Police. The Idaho State Police were assisted by the Idaho Falls Police Department, Custer County Sheriff’s Office, Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office, and the Attorney General’s ICAC Unit. The case was prosecuted by Deputy Attorneys General Denise Monn, Madison Gourley, and Austin Young.
