IDAHO FALLS, ID — Attorney General Raúl Labrador recognized Detective Jared Mendenhall of the Idaho Falls Police Department and Detective Korey Payne of the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office for reaching 100 combined arrests through the Idaho Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. The milestone represents years of investigations protecting vulnerable children from online predators across Idaho.

Detectives Mendenhall and Payne have each served on the ICAC Task Force for many years and are among the most experienced and dedicated investigators in Idaho. Their work has directly protected vulnerable children, stopped dangerous offenders, and strengthened the safety of communities across the state.

“Detectives Mendenhall and Payne have spent years tracking down predators who exploit our most vulnerable,” said Attorney General Labrador. “One hundred ICAC arrests by these two detectives is a remarkable achievement. Their commitment to this difficult work is extraordinary. I’m grateful for their service to their community and for our partnership with Chief Johnson and Sheriff Hulse that make their mission possible.”

Detective Mendenhall’s achievement is shared with his K9 partner, Ardis, an electronic detection dog specially trained to locate hidden digital devices. Ardis has played a crucial role in numerous investigations, helping to uncover evidence that might otherwise have gone undetected. The pair’s teamwork represents the growing sophistication and innovation behind today’s ICAC operations.

“Detectives Mendenhall and Payne exemplify the very best of law enforcement,” said Nick Edwards, Idaho ICAC Commander. “Their expertise, relentless dedication, and compassion for protecting children are unmatched. Reaching 100 combined arrests is more than a number—it represents children who are safer because of their work.”

This milestone also highlights the strong and long-standing partnership between the Idaho Falls Police Department, the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office, and the Idaho Attorney General’s Office. The collaboration between these agencies has been critical to the success of ICAC operations in eastern Idaho.

The Task Force commends Chief Bryce Johnson of the Idaho Falls Police Department and Sheriff Samuel Hulse of the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office for their continued support of the ICAC mission. Their leadership and commitment have ensured that investigators have the resources, training, and support needed to stay ahead of offenders and keep Idaho’s children safe.

Anyone with information regarding the exploitation of children is encouraged to contact local police, the Attorney General’s ICAC Unit at 208-947-8700, or the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at 1-800-843-5678.

The Attorney General’s ICAC Unit works with the Idaho ICAC Task Force, a coalition of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, to investigate and prosecute individuals who use the internet to criminally exploit children.
