NEWSLETTER: The Simpson Standard: November 30th, 2025

By Congressman Mike Simpson

Dear Friend,

I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving! As promised, I’d like to highlight the two other community funding projects that were included in the Agriculture Appropriations Bill, which was recently signed into law by President Trump.

As Idaho’s only appropriator, it is my great honor to fight for Idaho’s priorities and ensure Idahoans’ hard-earned tax dollars return to Idaho. I have the unique opportunity to do this through Community Project Funding, as I serve on the House Appropriations Committee.

In addition to securing funding for CAFE and the Bingham Ground Water District, I also fought for and secured funding for a new fire station in Buhl and the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Magic Valley Expansion Project.

Securing Funding for Buhl Fire Station

The Buhl Rural Fire Protection District does not currently have a fire station that meets the community’s needs.

From not being centrally located to lacking sufficient space to house all necessary apparatus, a new fire station is needed to ensure the safety of residents. This project will significantly impact those who protect and serve the community every day.

Securing Funding for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Magic Valley Expansion Project

For over 30 years, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Magic Valley have supported kids and families by fostering a brighter future for Idaho’s youth.

As a longtime supporter of this organization, I have witnessed firsthand the transformative power of their efforts in education, leadership, and personal development programs. I am pleased to champion greater opportunities for Magic Valley youth by securing much-needed funding for this pivotal expansion project.

Curious about Appropriations?

Are you curious about community funding projects or the appropriations process in general?

Last year, I filmed Appropriations 101 videos to discuss the intricacies of the appropriations process and what goes into developing and passing the twelve annual appropriations bills each fiscal year.
