MOSCOW, IDAHO — On the evening of Friday, October 24, 2025, the Foundation to Abolish Abortion will host a formal, moderated debate in Moscow, Idaho, on the topic of strategies to abolish abortion after the overturn of Roe v. Wade.
Pastor Jeff Durbin of Apologia Church in Tempe, Arizona, and Bradley Pierce of the Foundation to Abolish Abortion will debate Pastor Doug Wilson of Christ Church in Moscow, Idaho, and Pastor Toby Sumpter of King’s Cross Church in Moscow, Idaho. Joshua Haymes, the host of Reformation Red Pill, will serve as the moderator.
Durbin and Pierce, who are both abortion abolitionists, will defend the thesis “Civil magistrates should reject regulatory Pro-Life legislative strategies as biblically forbidden, morally compromised, and practically counterproductive.” Wilson and Sumpter affirm smashmouth incrementalism and will be arguing in the negative.
“We look forward to a fruitful discussion as we each labor to obey our Lord by rescuing His image-bearers from death,” Bradley Pierce said in a statement. “Scripture must define our approach to establishing justice in our nation, especially as we seek to make murdering anyone illegal for everyone.”
This debate is increasingly defining the conversation in anti-abortion circles, especially as elected officials, church leaders, and everyday conservative Christians consider the prospect of truly abolishing abortion after the overturn of Roe v. Wade.
The debate will include a live audience in Moscow, Idaho. It will also be livestreamed starting at 6:00 PM Pacific by Apologia Studios and Reformation Red Pill, with a Q&A hosted immediately afterward by Reformation Red Pill.
Bills to completely abolish abortion were introduced in fifteen states this year, with a record number of lawmakers joining as sponsors and a record number of bills advancing to committee hearings.
