Idaho Voter Registration: A Look at Our Cities Ahead of November’s Local Elections
More than a million Idahoans are registered to vote, but with municipal elections coming up this November, what does that look like at the city level? Here’s how voter registration breaks down across Idaho’s cities, and some of the highest concentrations of registered voters may surprise you.

While the top three cities for voter registration follow Idaho’s largest population centers, the rest of the top ten may hold a few surprises. Here’s the full list:

A closer look at party affiliation shows that 62% of registered voters are Republican, 25% unaffiliated, and about 12% are registered Democratic. We also see that more women in Idaho are registered than their male counterparts, 51% female, and a broad age distribution, with the largest group of voters in the 60–74 years old bracket.
You can explore this data more deeply through our Voter Explorer interactive map, which shows voter registration by geographic region, gender, party, and age.
While registration numbers are important, they don’t always translate into turnout. Local elections may not make national headlines, but they shape the decisions that affect our daily lives the most. I encourage every eligible voter to take part and to support open, accessible, and trusted elections here in Idaho.
