By Idaho GOP Chairwoman Dorothy Moon
This month, Republicans from throughout the Gem State will come together in beautiful Pocatello, Idaho, to enjoy fellowship and take care of important party business. The Idaho GOP State Central Committee is made up of delegates from every legislative district and county in the state. We gather every six months to hear reports from across Idaho and vote on proposed rules and resolutions.
You’re welcome to join us in Pocatello and see how the sausage is made. Admission is free—we only ask that you register on the Idaho GOP website so we can plan accordingly. You’re also invited to purchase a ticket for the Chairwoman’s Luncheon on Saturday afternoon for just $25. There are only a handful of seats left, so don’t wait!
Attendees will also have the opportunity to hear from experts in open seminars on Saturday morning. Representative Cornel Rasor will give an in-depth presentation on parliamentary procedure. Custer County Chairman Darr Moon will share his expertise on Idaho’s strategic mineral resources. GOP Treasurer Steve Bender will provide essential training for county officers on proper financial reporting. And State Controller Brandon Woolf will walk attendees through the Transparent Idaho website, a fantastic tool for tracking government spending.
Members of the State Central Committee will meet in committees on Friday evening to review dozens of proposed rules and resolutions before presenting their recommendations to the full committee on Saturday. Some of the resolutions under consideration include calls to restore the March presidential primary, reform judicial elections, enforce immigration laws, and eliminate the sales tax on groceries.
Many of the laws our Legislature passes each year begin as resolutions discussed and adopted at these party meetings. This is where the Republican grassroots can unite behind a shared vision and send a clear message to elected officials about the direction we want to go. When we speak with one voice, it makes a difference.
This year’s Summer Meeting carries added importance as we prepare for next year’s statewide elections. The momentum we build now—through clear articulation of our principles, building strong networks, and bold leadership—will shape Idaho’s future. This meeting is a key moment for Idaho Republicans to engage and lead.
But it’s not just business. Party meetings and conventions are a wonderful time to reconnect with friends and fellow patriots from Bonners Ferry to Bear Lake. Pocatello is a great place to visit, with shops, museums, and outdoor activities. Many attendees turn the Summer Meeting into a full vacation—you’re just a short drive to Lava Hot Springs, American Falls, Craters of the Moon, or even Yellowstone!
The Summer Meeting will take place Friday, June 20, through Saturday, June 21, at Calvary Chapel in Pocatello. We hope to see you there!
