STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:
This bill proposes to amend Idaho Code to revise the voting threshold from fifty percent (50%) to sixty percent (60%) on statewide initiatives under Idaho Code SECTION 34-1811. It also removes obsolete language.

LATEST NEWS:
1/8/25: Rep. Skaug presented H002 in House State Affairs on Wednesday, January 8. He explained that Idaho no longer has a “citizen’s initiative process due to out-of-state groups spending millions to influence Idaho voters. Rep. Todd Achilles, who was a spokesman for Proposition 1 in 2024, indicated that he will likely vigorously debate against the bill in the full hearing. The committee voted to print the RS.
