STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:
The classroom is a place to foster education and to do so, students should be comfortable and free from partisan politics. Personal political beliefs disrupt the classroom and make students uncomfortable, feel unwelcome and open the door to bullying if they are in the minority mindset. Third party flags are an open political statement and do not belong in the classroom.
LATEST NEWS:
1/23/25: Rep. Hill introduced a new RS, replacing the previous text. The new RS removes the section about international flags that raised questions in the previous hearing.
1/16/25: Rep. Hill presented H10 to House Ed this morning. Several people testified, both in favor and against. Rep. Tony Wisniewski made a substitute motion to send the bill to General Orders for amending, concerned that it would allow the flying of national flags of belligerent nations. The substitute motion was defeated 5-9, and the motion to send to the floor passed 12-2 on a party line vote. Read my live Twitter thread here.
