What are your top issues for 2025?

The first general session of the 68th Legislature of the State of Idaho begins in just over six weeks. 105 senators and representatives from throughout the state, each with different backgrounds, perspectives, and ideas, will convene in Boise to make laws on our behalf. Our legislators will be hearing many voices — lobbyists, bureaucrats, activists, and constituents all compete to persuade them to vote one way or another.

This coming session could be the most conservative in Idaho history, which means expectations are high. There are more self-identified “freedom” legislators than Democrats, which means we expect to see conservative policy come out of the session.

I would like to ask you, the thousands of subscribers to the Gem State Chronicle, what you would like to see. What bills should the Legislature pass? What issues are most important? I’ve opened up the comments section for this post, so let me know what you think. I’ll collect responses and report back in a few days!

  1. 1. End daylight savings time. Simply do not spring forward next year. Be done with it. Start with something easy and unifying.
    2. Ban chemtrails over Idaho. Tennessee did and Florida is probably next. Use their process as a. template. Stop poisoning our air.
    3. Eliminate food sales tax. Grocery and service.
    4. Eliminate property tax. It’s immoral. It’s cruel. It’s against property rights.
    5. Ban mask mandates, lock down orders, and ALL vaccine requirements/mandates.
    6. Teachers have the right to carry and rught to use carry weapon ti protect children. Ban gun free zones?
    7. Shrink state budgets for health and welfare.
    8. Deregulate small and home-based business policies so more people can innovate more with less small scale/start up risk

That’s it for now. Thank you for opening up the floor!
