Sunday, 3/10/24:

S1374 was passed from committee directly into the amending order. It was returned to the floor with some minor amendments and awaits a vote.

Monday, 2/26/24:

Sen. Scott Herndon introduced RS 31395 C1 in Senate State Affairs last week. This bill directly addresses the issues that were raised by the Idaho Supreme Court decision in Herndon v. Sandpoint that private entities that operate events on public property can restrict the right to bear arms. This bill would clarify that unless the event is private or admission is charged, such entities cannot restrict the constitutional rights that would otherwise be allowed on that property. The committee voted to print the bill and it awaits a hearing as S1374.
