Idaho Freedom Foundation, the Gem State’s most influential conservative policy center and think tank, announces the next Capitol Clarity program lineup for Thursday, February 15, 2024, at noon in the Lincoln Auditorium.
We have heard that Idaho has a dangerous shortage of doctors and nurses. There are many opinions as to why, but we will present a plan to fix it at Thursday’s Capitol Clarity event. Idaho’s medical licensure laws create a long and complex process for budding physicians. What if there was an alternative to the old way?
Dr. Jeffrey Singer is a Senior Fellow at the Cato Institute. He is President Emeritus and founder of Valley Surgical Clinics and a board-certified general surgeon serving Phoenix, Arizona. He has written extensively on healthcare policy issues across the nation, particularly the physician shortage. In his recent paper, “Expand Access to Primary Care: Remove Barriers to Assistant Physicians,” he explained how addressing the physician shortage may require reapproaching how we address physician training and licensure.
Capitol Clarity began in 2021 as a joint operation between IFF, Lt. Governor Janice McGeachin, and Rep. Dorothy Moon. We are proud to continue this program that brings lawmakers and government leaders together with the people of Idaho.
Join us Thursday at noon in the Lincoln Auditorium or online at YouTube, Facebook, X, or capitolclarity.com.
