Boise, Idaho
Idaho Freedom Foundation, the Gem State’s most influential conservative policy center and think tank, is proud to announce the lineup for the next Capitol Clarity program on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at 12:00pm in the Lincoln Auditorium.
Sen. Glenneda Zuiderveld and Rep. Josh Tanner will share their efforts to hold the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare accountable to the Legislature and to the people.
Sen. Zuiderveld has been a leader in exposing corruption in state government agencies, especially IDHW. It was Zuiderveld who initially shared information from a whistleblower that described how IDHW had disregarded a legislative mandate to spend federal grant money on programs for school-age children, rather than preschool. That boldness led directly to an independent auditor’s report which revealed numerous instances of financial malfeasance on the part of the agency.
Rep. Tanner has been leading the fight to trim IDHW’s budget in the Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee. He spent the months in between legislative sessions investigating every facet of the agency, looking for ways to better steward taxpayer money. He will bring an analytical perspective to Capitol Clarity.
Capitol Clarity began in 2021 as a joint operation between IFF, Lt. Governor Janice McGeachin, and Rep. Dorothy Moon. We are proud to continue this program that brings lawmakers and government leaders together with the people of Idaho.
Join us Thursday at noon in the Lincoln Auditorium or online at YouTube, Facebook, X, or capitolclarity.com.
