The Supreme Court is Idaho’s court of last resort. It reviews appeals from the Court of Appeals and certain direct appeals from trial courts, particularly those involving constitutional questions or death penalty cases. The Idaho Supreme Court is composed of five justices elected in nonpartisan statewide elections to six-year terms. The justices select one among them to serve as Chief Justice.
