Cherry Commission
Self-Governing Agency
Created in 1967, the Idaho Cherry Commission promotes and researches markets for Idaho's cherry industry—including Bing, Tieton, Lapins, Sweetheart, Skeena, and Rainier varieties—funded by an assessment on growers and dealers rather than tax dollars. Commission members are five practical growers and dealers, appointed annually by the Governor to serve up to two three-year terms each.
