RELEASE: Attorney General Labrador Launches Campaign for Re-election

BOISE, ID — Attorney General Raúl Labrador announced today that he has filed for reelection, pledging to continue defending the Constitution, protecting Idaho families, and upholding Idaho’s conservative values. The Republican primary election will be held May 19, 2026.

Since taking office in January 2023, Labrador has built a record as one of Idaho’s most effective and conservative Attorneys General, forcefully defending laws and sovereignty of the state. He has taken Idaho’s defense of women’s sports to the United States Supreme Court, protected the state’s pro-life laws against repeated legal challenges, secured a unanimous victory at the Idaho Supreme Court affirming parental rights and school choice, and strengthened Idaho’s fight against online child exploitation.

“When I ran for Attorney General, I promised to aggressively defend Idaho’s values,” said Labrador. “The legal battles over life, parental rights, and fairness in women’s sports are far from over. Idahoans deserve an Attorney General who shares their conservative principles, stands firm, takes these fights to the highest courts, and never apologizes for defending our laws.”

Labrador made defending Idaho’s Fairness in Women’s Sports Act a top priority after the previous Attorney General failed to properly defend the law. He successfully petitioned the Supreme Court to hear Idaho’s case to protect fair and safe competition for Idaho’s daughters.

Under Labrador’s leadership, the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit eliminated a backlog of more than 1,400 tips and tripled arrests of child predators, while strengthening partnerships with law enforcement to improve Idaho’s ability to investigate and prosecute online exploitation.

Labrador has also led multi-state efforts defending Second Amendment rights, helped stop California’s EV truck mandate that would have harmed Idaho truckers, and sued to stop the Biden administration’s open border policies.

Idaho can count on Raúl Labrador to continue fighting boldly in the courts and across the state to protect Idaho’s laws, families, and freedoms.
