Dear Friend,
From Idaho Falls to Boise, it was a great week spent in Idaho’s Second District. The week started off strong with a telephone town hall, where I listened to Idahoans’ concerns and answered their questions. Thank you to everyone who participated!
Additionally, I had a great agriculture immigration reform district tour with Rick Naerebout from the Idaho Dairyman’s Association and Zak Miller from the Idaho Farm Bureau Federation this week. We enjoyed the productive discussions with Idahoans regarding securing a legal workforce for American agriculture. Just last week, President Trump emphasized his commitment to protecting America’s farmers while removing violent criminals who have no place in our country. He is absolutely right. Our focus should remain on deporting dangerous criminals, not law-abiding farm workers.
There has been a lot of news surrounding our brave law enforcement officers. Whether the policemen and sheriffs who serve and protect our communities 24/7, the border patrol agents keeping our border secure, or the men and women of ICE, I will always stand with the heroes who work around the clock to keep our families and us safe. I’m proud to highlight funding that I recently secured for the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office through community project funding. You can read more about this funding below.
Securing a Legal Workforce for American Ag
Thank you to everyone who participated in the meaningful conversations about the need for a stable, reliable, and legal agricultural workforce. A special thank you to Rick Naerebout and Zak Miller for their efforts here as well. Did you know that 85% of Idahoans, including 79% of Republicans, support legal status for dairy workers (who pass a background check and have no criminal record) and their families.
Let me be clear: making meaningful reforms to the H-2A visa program and establishing a strong, legal immigration workforce for agricultural producers is not an amnesty deal. I do not support amnesty. Our country needs a stable labor force to protect our food supply and ensure farmers can continue to do their jobs.

Bringing Tax Dollars Back to Idaho
First responders across southeastern Idaho work tirelessly to serve and protect our communities. However, their efforts are at risk by outdated radio repeaters, which pose a significant danger to lives, property, and response times during emergencies.
I am proud to support this project and ensure Idaho’s first responders have access to reliable and modern communication tools when responding to crises. You can read more about this project and community support here.
President Donald Trump signed this measure into law LAST WEEK. I was proud to stand alongside the President as he signed legislation that includes critical Idaho funding.

ICYMI: President Trump Signs Bill Delivering Critical Wins for Idaho
While we’re on the topic of community project funding… As Idaho’s only appropriator, I will ALWAYS fight for your hard-earned tax dollars to come back to our state, rather than going to blue states like New York or California.
Included in the package signed by President Trump:
✅Critical funding for INL.
✅Funding for the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office
✅Funding for Idaho State University’s Idaho Accelerator Center
✅Funding for Boise State University’s continued research in microelectronics and semiconductor spaces
✅Funding for 4 water improvement projects in American Falls, Bellevue, Fort Hall, and Rigby
