By Congressman Mike Simpson
Dear Friend,
I joined Speaker Mike Johnson for his press conference alongside House Republican Leadership to discuss the government shutdown’s impacts on America’s national parks.
Americans remember the 2013 shutdown, when the Obama administration’s policies locked down national parks and made the shutdown as painful as possible. They even closed the open-air, 24/7 WWII Memorial — turning away veterans.
I applaud the Trump administration’s efforts to do the opposite and mitigate these negative impacts. But this is not sustainable, and DC Liberals should end the blocking of this government funding measure. Listen to what I have to say about this here.
