Idaho is home to thousands of veterans. These brave men and women gave everything to defend our freedoms and deserve nothing less than our best.
Last month, I published an editorial emphasizing my commitment to provide our veterans and military families with their hard-earned benefits and care.
Our nation has a moral and legal obligation to support the men and women who answered the call to serve. Yet, too often, I hear from Idaho veterans struggling to access federal services.
Bureaucratic red tape, exacerbated under the Biden administration, created backlogs in benefit processing and stalled vital projects—like the state veterans’ homes in Boise, Pocatello, and Lewiston.
I met with President Trump’s VA Secretary nominee Doug Collins last year and made it clear: we must eliminate the barriers unjustly denying Idaho’s veterans their benefits and care.
We got to work, and in February, Secretary Collins called me personally with the good news—the Boise State Veterans Home project was moving forward.
I’m proud to have partnered with Secretary Collins to fulfill this promise to our veterans. It is an honor to serve them and ensure Idaho’s veterans receive nothing less than America’s best.
