By Sen. Jim Risch
Idaho public lands have once again been saved!
Last week, President Trump and Secretary Burgum announced the results of the final review on Lava Ridge, as directed by the executive order that I coauthored with President Trump. The review found what we in Idaho have known—Lava Ridge is wrong for the Gem State.
For years, the Biden administration tried to push through the abysmal Lava Ridge Wind Energy project in the Magic Valley.
Idahoans were united in their opposition to the project, and I led the fight in telling the Biden administration, “Don’t do it!”
I made a promise to Idahoans that I would not rest until the Lava Ridge Wind Energy Project was terminated. I worked with President Trump to write an executive order to end the project.
On day one, President Trump signed that order and we delivered on that promise.
I am proud to have worked hand in hand with President Trump to block this disastrous proposal. The Lava Ridge project is no more!
