EDITORIAL: 100 Days of Putting America First

By Sen. Jim Risch

President Trump’s first 100 days in office have already delivered significant achievements for Idaho and the American people.

For four years, our country was run by an administration that ignored the voices of Idahoans. Within hours of President Trump taking office, that changed.

With the stroke of his pen, President Trump stopped the disastrous Lava Ridge Wind Energy Project that was overwhelmingly opposed by Idahoans. I’m proud to have partnered with President Trump to write the executive order killing this project and bring home this win for the Gem State.

Since that historic moment, Republicans in the Senate have worked with President Trump to reverse Democrats’ green energy mandates, which tied up Idaho’s natural resources with excessive red tape. In just 100 days, President Trump has flipped the script—from relying on foreign nations for critical minerals and nuclear technologies to prioritizing the resources in our own backyard.

In his first 100 days, President Trump has also:

  • Protected women’s sports;
  • Ended radical DEI policies in government and the military;
  • Secured historic investments in American manufacturing; and
  • Brought border crossings to a 25-year low.

As your Senator, I am committed to working with President Trump to double down on the promises we made to Idahoans: to cut red tape, get government out of the way, and defend our freedoms.

Republicans are restoring commonsense to Washington D.C.—and we’re just getting started.
