STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:
This legislation proposes firing squad as the primary enforcement mechanism to administrate the death penalty. Intravenous administration of a lethal substance is the secondary mechanism should, for some reason, the firing squad method not be available.

LATEST NEWS:
1/22/25: Rep. Skaug introduced this bill on Tuesday to make the firing squad the primary method of execution in Idaho. This comes about as difficulties have arisen in acquiring lethal injection drugs. The committee voted to print the bill.
