IDVR Director Resigns After Losing Track of Millions

According to Ruth Brown at Idaho Reports, Jane Donnellan, director of the Idaho Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (IDVR), has resigned. The agency informed the Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee on the last regular day of the session that it had lost track of $4.7 million and needed an emergency appropriation of $2.7 million to pay its obligations for the rest of the fiscal year. JFAC initially passed a budget bill for the latter amount, but withdrew it after conflicting information came to light.

Donnellan later admitted that there were accounting issues going back to 2021 which have continued to compound heading into fiscal year 2025.

IDVR is organized under the auspices of the State Board of Education (SBOE), so it will be up to the members of that board to appoint a new director. SBOE executive director Matt Freeman will serve as interim director of IDVR. The division assists people with various disabilities in job training and placement.
