Monday, 3/25/24:
The Senate passed H545 this afternoon and heads to the governor’s desk.

Monday, 2/26/24:
Idaho Freedom Foundation rated H545 +1.
The House debated the bill today. Several Democrats argued against it, worried about high rent costs and exploitive landlords. It passed on a party line vote.

Monday, 2/19/24:
Update: H545 passed out of committee onto the House floor.
Rep. Brandon Mitchell introduced House Bill 545 which would prohibit municipalities from forcing property owners to accept Section 8 vouchers and other federal housing assistance programs as a condition of renting. It is scheduled for a full hearing this afternoon.
