So we come to the end of the Year of Our Lord 2023. Like 1948 in China, 1916 in Russia, or 1859 in the United States, 2023 feels like a precursor to something even more tumultuous. The coming year looks to be historic, one way or another, bringing a climactic end to several ongoing narratives.
World War III could potentially break out in three different regions:
Support for Ukraine seems to be waning, but neoconservatives are still trying to sell Americans on the moral imperative of fighting Russia. Will we be drawn into a greater conflict, or will NATO and the US allow Russia to retain her gains and quietly put the whole affair to bed?
Israel’s incursion into the Gaza Strip does not look to be the usual limited engagement. One way or another, this action is going to be decisive. At the same time, Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen have escalated their campaign against shipping in the Red Sea. Will the usual neocons achieve their longtime goal of war with Iran? Will millions of Palestinian refugees arrive in Europe or America?
China has been escalating its rhetoric regarding Taiwan. Will they make a move to take the island by force, or will they continue to exert political pressure? How far will the US go to protect Taiwan? Will we risk open war with China?
Meanwhile, the 2024 presidential election looks likely to be the most tumultuous since 1860:
2012 was the last time we saw a peaceful transfer of executive power in America. Democrats haven’t accepted a Republican victory since 1988, while Republicans did not accept 2020. Neither side will accept losing next year, so either way our country seems primed to explode.
Should Donald Trump continue leading the polls as we get closer to Election Day, the regime will surely pull out all the stops to keep him off the ballot. Will they put him in prison, or worse? Can our country survive such tyrannical actions?
If Trump manages to hold on and win election, will the Biden regime simply step aside and transfer power? It seems unlikely. Every executive action that die hard Trump supporters wanted to see in 2020 will be deployed in 2024. It’s not hyperbole to say that we might have seen our last true presidential election.
The immigration issue is not going away either:
Millions of people have crossed our southern border and are now spread throughout our country. This will continue to strain our communities and social services and will push our society closer to the breaking point.
What part does the large number of military aged young men who have crossed the border in the past few years play in a potential repeat of the 2020 George Floyd Summer of Love?
Even if the GOP retakes the White House and Congress and implements the immigration restrictions that were beginning to work under Trump, there are still uncounted tens of millions of illegal aliens within our borders. Is repatriation even possible at this point?
Idaho faces an uncertain year as well:
Will sanity prevail in the fight over gender mutilation of children? Or will federal courts impose such barbarism on our state?
Will we see movement in the Legislature to protect children from obscene materials, reduce the size and scope of government, and curtail DEI propaganda in schools and universities?
Will conservatives finally gain control of the Senate, or will the IACI-backed establishment strike back?
No matter what the future brings, our course is clear: Elect conservatives, hold government accountable, and protect children and families. The national issues that dominate cable news are not nearly as important as what is happening in your backyard. Keep your focus on your state and your communities.
No matter what happens in the next 366 days, I feel blessed to be here in Idaho. There is no one I would rather face the apocalypse with than you. Let us pray for God’s protection and blessings in the year to come and keep fighting to pass on our liberties to our children and grandchildren after us.
