RELEASE: Attorney General Labrador’s Office Arrests Rupert Man for Alleged Exploitation of a Child

BOISE, ID — Attorney General Raúl Labrador has announced that investigators with his Idaho Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit arrested 33-year-old Luis Hurtado on Thursday, January 22, 2026, on two counts of distribution of child sexual exploitation material with bond set at $250,000.

“Since taking office, I’ve made protecting Idaho families my top priority, and results like this prove our strategy is working,” said Attorney General Labrador. “I’m grateful for the partnerships we have built with local and federal authorities who helped assist us in this arrest.”

The ICAC Unit was assisted by Cassia County Sheriff’s Office, Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office, Blaine County Sheriff’s Office, Rupert Police Department, and Homeland Security Investigations.

The Attorney General’s ICAC Unit works with the Idaho ICAC Task Force, a coalition of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, to investigate and prosecute individuals who use the internet to criminally exploit children.

The charges listed above are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
