NEWSLETTER: Risch Roundup: From the Palouse to the Sawtooths

By Sen. Jim Risch

As your Senator, it’s my honor to represent the people of Idaho and protect our way of life.

I had the pleasure of spending the August work period meeting with Idahoans from across the Gem State. We discussed what matters most to Idahoans, whether that’s Republicans’ historic tax cuts for working families, protecting our public lands, or the upcoming college football season.

Thanks to everyone who welcomed me and for all that you do for our great state!

I had a productive meeting with Carey Mayor Alyssa Cenarrusa and City Councilman Chad Chorney about important issues in their community. I also caught up with my long-time friend, Idaho ranching icon Nick Purdy.

Was great to meet with members of the USS Idaho Commissioning Committee in the Wood River Valley. The USS Idaho is a leading-edge nuclear-powered submarine, and is expected to join the U.S. Navy fleet next year.

Took a walk down memory lane to visit my brothers at the Phi Delta Theta house. The fraternity continues to be filled with great young men!

The ICCU Arena at my alma mater was built almost entirely from wood sourced here in the Gem State. It’s a beautiful sight for a forester like me!

I had a great time meeting with the University of Idaho’s new Football Coach, Thomas Ford Jr. about the Vandals’ upcoming season.
